live session, new single announcement & band concert

it's all happening at once

Hello there,

four weeks have passed since the release of my first single »Between You and I«. Thank you for listening, sharing and spreading the word.

Live Session

Just a couple of weeks later, the band of my dreams and I met up in the Rabbit Hole of the Famous Gold Watch Studios to record a live session of the song. It came out today and I am super proud of it, you can watch it on YouTube. The band consists of Conor Cunningham on piano, Tom Osander on drums, Felix Buchner on bass and Adar Alfandari on electric guitar. Once again it was filmed by Richard Marx and my studio colleague Sam Hanlan did the recording and mixing. How do you like it? I love it.

Single Release of »Always«

While the first single is still roaming around, the next one is already getting ready. In just two weeks, on the 8th of December, the song »Always« will be released. It’s a fairly classical folk song, a warm guitar sound, some backing vocals and a beautiful slide guitar melody from Felix Anton Remm, which we took all the way from the demo stage to the final song.

Speaking of the lyrics - when playing it live I often call it a protest song against the saying “You can only forget, if you forgive”. The song disagrees with this sentiment. This feeling was met by the poem “Hälfte des Lebens” by Friedrich Hölderlin, a poet with whom I share the town of birth. Here is the first of two verses:

This poem and the image it draws also influenced the artwork which the photographer Viktoria Byt and I created for the song.

The song can already be pre-saved here, and I’ll send you a little reminder once it’s out. It will be accompanied by a lyric video also made by my good friend and wonderful photographer and videographer Viktoria Byt.

Single Release Concert

Celebrating the single release of »Always« and celebrating that I have a wonderful band now, we will play a concert on the 13th December at my favorite recording studio in town. There will be only very limited tickets available, so drop me a message via E-Mail or the socials and I’ll reserve you one and tell you all the details about the concert. I am so glad that VERA agreed to open for us that night, you can listen to her doing her magic right here.
